Supernatural (1933)

October Challenge Day 3

This one has been on my To Watch list for quite sometime. Imagine my delight when I saw it was available in my local library!

If you're looking for a little known spooky black and white classic, then look no further!

This story revolves around a sadistic woman, who, after killing several men, is convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

A light opening for a film from 1933 ...

Welcome now a somewhat sketchy scientist who want's her dead body for research purposes - to perform a sort of paranormal experiment.

Totally normal stuff.

The drama unfolds when her spirit possesses a woman grieving over the sudden death of her twin brother. Having possessed the poor girl, the murderess (now in a rich new body) continues to pursue her murderous conquests ...

Still with me?

The killer's new target is the corrupt spiritualist who got her arrested!!
[insert dramatic music]

This is a really perfect film for a dark and stormy night. At just over an hour long it's also a delight for a little late night viewing before bed. I would also recommend this film for the whole family, however there is a rather striking visual at the end that may not be suitable for all viewers.

In all, recommended for nearly all audiences and not just horror fans. It's a quirky, strange film and should be seen at least once.

Pairs with drinks in fancy glasses. Rig up some wires, smoke and mirrors for a full effect. I rented this film from the local library. Use the links on Horror Habit's side bar to locate where else you can find this spooktastic feature.
